Research and Practice

Both Laura and Helen gained doctorates in Global Development from the University of Manchester. Laura’s work centred on fire risk and justice in informal settlements in Nairobi, while Helen examined the what, how and impact of learning and unlearning in social movements.

They have experience of Global Development through research, practice and teaching, including lecturing and supervising undergraduate, masters and doctoral students.

We have experience in:

  • Proposal and grant writing, including concept note development

  • Project delivery, including community-based research and pilot projects

  • Research design, including conceptual frameworks, methodology and methods

  • Ethics processes, including formal reviewing

  • Programme / project evaluations

  • Impact and engagement strategy and delivery
