From Global Citizenship to Next Generation for Change
This project, funded by the UKRI Impact Accelerator Account saw Helen work closely with One World Together, a social enterprise born out of Prof. Niki Banks’ academic and Chibwe Masabo-Henry’s practitioner experiences in global development.
Drawing on her 15 years experience in the school-based education sector, as a Secondary English Language and Literature teacher, mentor, coach, consultant and teacher educator, Helen supported the organisation to reflect on their pilot project and build towards the next steps, including with further conceptualisation, resource development and funding proposals. After reflecting on the framing of Global Citizenship Education and putting into context with Helen’s other work on learning for social change and changemaking, One World Together reframed their work through the banner of the Next Generation for Change, allowing greater connection to what Helen continues to think about as ‘the lifecourse of microphilanthropy’.
The follow-up proposal to this award was successful, leading to an Advanced award for work entitled Building a City of Changemakers’.
